Description

PROJECT: Codex Dynamic is a video projection exhibition presented on the Manhattan Bridge Anchorage and Archway. Two site-specific, large-scale, mapped projections will rotate with a selection of single-channel video artworks by internationally renowned video artists. The exhibition seeks to conjure artistic inquiry relating to the subjectivity of space, time and the effect they have on our perceived reality.

ABOUT: Curator Leo Kuelbs has presented a variety of works in spaces both public and private, emphasizing the connection and blurring the boundaries between art (as object, spectacle and business) and daily life. Recent shows include “Immersive Surfaces,” a publicly presented art event spanning over 30,000 continuous square feet of the Manhattan Bridge Anchorage and Archway and involving over 20 artists from around the world. Also in 2011, “The Decelerator,” a multi-city show running concurrently in New York, Berlin and Budapest, and “A Wake: Still Lives and Moving Images” at Momentum Gallery in Berlin. Upcoming shows include: “Divine Coalescence,” presented in cooperation with Dom Perignon and Glowing Bulbs BP, June of 2012 in Berlin; “Codex Dynamic,” planned for September of 2012 in New York City; well as “A Wake,” which will be reprised in New York City in November of 2012. http://www.leokuelbscollection.com
